Alliterative Weekdays

I’ll admit it, I’m a sucker for alliterative weekdays. I’m not talking about #TravelTuesday, #WineWednesday, or #FollowFriday, which although are fun, aren’t as gratifying as things like Mussel Monday or a real life Wine Wednesday. When alliterative weekdays are events at bars and restaurants, that’s really when I get excited.

I recently discovered that one of my favourite restaurants in Naples, FL, Campiello, does Wine Wednesdays. All bottles of wine under $100 are 50% off and all bottles over $100 are $50 off.

Are you serious?!

I love it, not only because you don’t get these kinds of specials on alcohol in Canada, but because it allows us to try wines that are normally a touch out of our price range. We ordered a Viognier we’d never had, and were pleasantly surprised. It was great, and probably even better because it was only $35!

Across the road from Campiello is Sea Salt, which does a Mussel Monday Happy Hour, offering free mussels with the purchase of a drink between 4 and 6 pm.

Hm. Afternoon appetizers? (Ahhhhh more alliteration…). We didn’t get a chance to try Mussel Monday because I was still full from my lunchtime cioppino (terrible excuse, I’m aware), but it’s on my list.

Mussels are a favourite of mine

Mussels are my favourite. Free mussels are even better!

If only there was a day of the week that started with C for cheese and P for port. Perhaps I’ll initiate Fromage Fridays (shh I know it should be Fromage Vendredis, but go with me!).

In any case, when it comes to food and drink, alliterative weekdays are a favourite in my books. Do you know of any really great alliterative weekdays (or weekends, let’s not discriminate here)? I’d love to find more!
