Highest Point in the Peruvian Andes

I’m not sure what exactly it is that I love about this photo, but it’s one of my favourites from our drive through the Peruvian Andes. We went this way from Puno to Cusco, and the drive was totally unlike mountain driving in Canada. I can’t quite explain why, but it just felt different…it actually felt pretty isolated.

Where we pulled over, behind me while I’m taking this photo, was a roadside mini-market of locals selling crafts like alpaca mittens and socks, and little wooden musical instruments. I ended up nabbing a pair of mittens that I still wear all the time, and always associate those with this photo.

Feliz Viaje!
