Exeter Cathedral

Exeter Cathedral, originally uploaded by lindsontheroad.

In researching and visiting universities for my Master’s degree, I ventured down to Exeter in Devon to check out the university there. The city was really quite nice and historic, with much of its old buildings preserved thanks to its distance from the bombings on the wars. The cathedral in town was absolutely stunning, and sits ever so slightly away from the town, on its own bit of grass, in a perfect place to be admired. I’m not often fawning about churches when I travel, and I rarely make it a point of visiting them (unless they’re of extreme historical/cultural importance), but I really liked the situation and the gothic nature of the Exeter Cathedral. While I elected not to attend the university, I’m really pleased I went to Exeter.
