Islands in the Adriatic

Islands in the Adriatic, originally uploaded by lindsontheroad.

In case you’ve been living in a box since I got back from Croatia in July – I LOVED CROATIA! I can’t stop talking about it! I want to go back nowwwwww! Alas, I can’t, so I have to live vicariously through my former self and my photos. This picture was taken on Kolocep Island, one of the three inhabitable Elaphite Islands off the coast of Dubrovnik (the others are Lopud, which we also visited, and Sipan, which we didn’t…). The islands are cheap and quick to get to by ferry from Dubrovs, and are well worth a day trip. Here’s why: it was hot and sunny, the islands have amazing beaches, the people are friendly, there is gelato a-plenty, the seafood is fresh, everything is very well priced, and it’s GORGEOUS. Oh, and you may run across some delightful eye candy if you walk long enough (more on that another time). Seriously – go to these islands! Promise?
